A Twice Told Tale Pt.1

 "A Shooting Star" - Allison Nieboer

    In my second year of teaching fourth grade, I had this little dude, Hunter. He had bright red hair, freckles, and blue eyes, I can still picture it today. One day, he came up to me and said "Mrs. Nieboer, I have to tell you a secret." I responded, "Oh a secret? Tell me." Hunter got close to my face and whispered, "Last night, my dad saw a shooting star." This was the sweetest, purest thing I have ever heard from a fourth grader. All I could respond with was "Oh honey, that's wonderful." I will always remember this story because it was so innocent, he didn't even see the star himself, but his dad did. It was the fact that his dad saw the star, and Hunter thought this was the most amazing secret that he just had to tell me. It was truly the sweetest thing I have ever seen.
